Biography
With over 25 years’ experience supporting individuals, young people, and families, I am a trauma-informed counsellor dedicated to providing a compassionate, safe, and non-judgmental space for healing and growth. My professional background combines both academic study and lived experience, allowing me to connect with clients in a deeply empathetic and authentic way.
I hold a BA in Applied Social Care, a BA in Counselling & Psychotherapy, and have a MSc in Child and Adolescent Counselling & Psychotherapeutic Skills. In addition, I hold a Certificate in Community Addiction Studies, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Diploma Trauma Informed Care and DBT Advanced Diploma and I am a member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), and (BACP) member.
Having experienced personal trauma and loss, I developed a profound desire to help others navigate their own challenges. My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, warmth, and unconditional positive regard — key elements that foster a strong therapeutic relationship and empower clients to take ownership of their healing journey.
I believe that through understanding and self-compassion, clients can begin to let go of external control and recognise that true change comes from within. My aim is to create a supportive space where individuals feel seen, heard, and accepted as they explore their worries, fears, and hopes for the future.
